Year after year, the great Marsalas of the house receive top honours in the Gambero Rosso and are undoubtedly among the best in the world. Astrales D.O. Ribera del Duero Bodegas Los Astrales 2021 - 0.75l
Bodegas Los Astrales combines the identity of Ribera del Duero with the experience of the French Perrin family from Château de Beaucastel in the Rhône Valley. In Anguix, the family found old Tempranillo vineyards on limestone and clay soils capable of expressing freshness, structure and origin. The name Astrales reflects the close relationship between natural cycles, the vineyard and a biodynamically inspired philosophy. Tempranillo forms the foundation of this Ribera del Duero DO wine from vines aged between 30 and more than 80 years. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and around 18 months of ageing in French oak are carried out with restrained oak influence to emphasise balance and precision rather than sheer power. Black cherry, blackberry and violet intertwine with cocoa, graphite, spices and subtle toasted notes. Despite its depth, the wine remains remarkably clear and structured, supported by cool fruit, fine-grained tannins and mineral tension. The style combines the concentration of Ribera del Duero with a finer and more elegant interpretation focused on origin and finesse.

Barbi DOCG Brunello di Montalcino 2019 - 0.75l
The Fattoria dei Barbi has over 300 hectares of vineyards in Montalcino and Scansano and is run by Stefano Cinelli Colombini. The Colombini family has lived in this area since the middle of the 14th century. Brunello di Montacino is the most important red wine produced by this traditional winery. It has been produced for more than a century: In the cellar of the renowned winery, you can view a collection of thousands of Brunello bottles - starting with the 1892 vintage! The temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks takes an average of two weeks, during which the grapes transfer all of their extract into the final wine. The wine then matures for at least two years in oak barrels and then a further four months in the bottle. This means that the Brunello, which is full of character and highly refined, is ready to drink when it comes onto the market, but at the same time has the potential to mature for many more years. It presents itself with aromas of juicy cherries and dark chocolate, hints of leather, spices, truffles and violets as well as ethereal and mineral nuances. Its balance, delicacy and length will make any lover of finely matured, powerful red wines literally melt away. It particularly emphasises the perfect balance between fruit, tannin and acidity.
