Product information "Malabrigo Ribera Del Duero 2021 - 1.5l Magnum in 1er Holzkiste"

Malabrigo is the powerful and profound expression of Bodegas Cepa 21. Founded by José Moro, the winery represents a modern vision of Ribera del Duero, where origin and precision take centre stage. The grapes come from the single vineyard Malabrigo, situated between 750 and 900 metres above sea level, where limestone, clay and sandy soils combine with significant day to night temperature variations. Made exclusively from Tinto Fino, the local expression of Tempranillo, the wine captures the character of this distinctive terroir. Following temperature controlled fermentation, it matures for approximately eighteen months in French oak barrels, gaining depth, structure and remarkable complexity.

Ripe blackberry, cassis and dark plum aromas are layered with notes of liquorice, coffee, fine spices and balsamic nuances. The tannins are polished and seamlessly integrated, while vibrant freshness provides tension and length. In the 1.5-litre Magnum format, Malabrigo evolves particularly slowly and evenly, allowing fruit, structure and terroir expression to develop in exceptional harmony over time. Presented in an elegant single bottle wooden case, the Magnum highlights the prestige of this single vineyard wine and offers excellent ageing potential.

Eremus Crianza Ribera del Duero Ecologico 2020 - 0.75l
Tempranillo defines Eremus Crianza Ecológico with the clear structure and spicy depth characteristic of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. The organically cultivated vineyards around Pedrosa de Duero and Roa belong to the family winery Bodegas Hnos. Páramo Arroyo, which interprets its wines in a traditional and terroir focused style. The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates and carefully sorted before temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for around 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Within the estate portfolio, “Eremus” represents the more classically aged and structured interpretation of Ribera del Duero. The name derives from the Latin term for retreat or solitude and reflects the idea of calmness, time and slow maturation. Dark cherries, blackberries and balsamic herbs shape the concentrated and balanced profile of this organic Crianza. Oak ageing adds subtle notes of cocoa, tobacco and gentle toasted aromas without overshadowing the freshness of Tempranillo. The tannins remain present and precisely integrated, supporting the wine’s calm and linear style with additional depth and structure.

Eremus Reserva Ecologico Ribera del Duero 2018 - 0.75l
Tempranillo defines Eremus Reserva Ecológico with the depth and structured character typical of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. The organically cultivated vineyards around Pedrosa de Duero and Roa belong to the family winery Bodegas Hnos. Páramo Arroyo, which interprets its Reserva wines in a deliberately classical style. The grapes are harvested by hand, carefully double sorted and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for around 20 months in French and American oak barrels. The name “Eremus” derives from the Latin word for retreat or solitude and reflects a wine shaped by time, calmness and slow ageing. Black cherries, wild berries, cocoa and balsamic herbs give this organic Reserva a concentrated and composed profile. Oak ageing adds subtle toasted notes, tobacco nuances and further depth while preserving the freshness of Tempranillo. The tannins remain dense and precisely integrated, supporting the wine’s powerful yet linear style. Suitable with braised beef, game dishes or aged hard cheese.

VARIETIES AND PROCESSING TINTO FINO, GRENACHE, ALBILLO AND OTHERS. The harvest takes place in crates between 16 and 30 September. Natural vinification with indigenous yeasts from the grapes and minimal intervention. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels. MATURING 14 MONTHS IN NEW FRENCH OAK BARRELS, BOTTLED IN MARCH 2024.TASTING NOTES Deep purple red colour. Powerful nose of ripe red fruits, blackberries and blackcurrants. Jesus Yllera D.O. Ribera del Duero 2019 - 0.75l
From the high plateau of Ribera del Duero, Bodegas Yllera has shaped the evolution of modern Spanish wine across six generations. Jesús Yllera combines old high altitude vineyards with the historic Ribera tradition of complementing Tempranillo with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The vines grow on calcareous soils at elevations reaching 1000 metres. After selective hand harvesting, temperature controlled fermentation and malolactic ageing, the wine matures for twelve months in oak barrels, balancing regional character with a precise and classical style. Dark cherry, blackberry and cassis define the profile, layered with notes of tobacco, cedarwood, cocoa and dried herbs. The structure remains composed and concentrated, supported by fine grained tannins, mineral tension and the freshness typical of Ribera’s elevated vineyards. Oak ageing adds depth and complexity without overshadowing the wine’s origin.

Jesus Yllera D.O. Ribera del Duero 2019 - 1.5l Magnum in 1er Holzkiste
Bodegas Yllera dedicates Jesús Yllera to the co-founder of the estate, who shaped the winery together with his brother Pepe from the early 1970s onwards. This D.O. Ribera del Duero cuvée is composed of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The 45 to 50-year-old bush vines grow at elevations between 700 and 1,000 metres on clay and sandy soils. Following manual harvesting and careful selection in the vineyard and cellar, the wine matures for twelve months in French oak barrels, followed by further ageing in the bottle. Dark plum, blackberry and blueberry combine with vanilla, cocoa, liquorice and subtle roasted notes. Hints of graphite and flint add definition to the ripe fruit, while mature tannins, freshness and a long finish shape the structure. Presented as a magnum in an individual wooden case, it is a suitable format for larger gatherings, special occasions or a personal cellar reserve. Why we recommend this wineThe combination of its Ribera del Duero origin, old vines and ageing in French oak results in a structured style with a clear identity. The magnum adds a format suited to gatherings, gifts and personal cellaring.

Viña Arnáiz Tinto Crianza D.O. Ribera del Duero 2019 - 0.75l

Bardos Ribera del Duero D.O. Reserva 2018 - 0.75l
This Reserva from Bodega Bardos, a project by the Spanish wine company Vintae, comes from high-altitude vineyards in the Ribera del Duero D.O. across Burgos and Soria. The name refers to the bards, the storytellers of earlier times, while also recognising those who cultivate old, low-yielding vineyards under demanding conditions. Tinta del País, the regional name for Tempranillo, is complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by four weeks of fermentation and maceration and 16 months of ageing in new French oak barrels. Dark plum, blackberry and blackcurrant combine with herbs, mocha and subtle floral notes. The structure is concentrated and balanced, with lively acidity, supple tannins and a persistent, savoury finish. It pairs well with braised beef, lamb dishes or mature hard cheese. Why we recommend this wine? The combination of high-altitude vineyards, old vines and ageing in French oak offers a clear expression of Ribera del Duero’s powerful, structured style. Cabernet Sauvignon adds further spice and definition to the regional Tempranillo.
