Tempranillo, known locally as Tinto Fino in the Ribera del Duero appellation, defines this red wine from Castilla y León, sourced from old vines across several villages. Bodegas AALTO combines these diverse vineyard sites into a cuvée with a clear expression of origin. Vinification is carried out parcel by parcel, with manual harvesting, temperature-controlled fermentation and ageing for around 16 months in French and American oak.

Ripe dark fruit, cherry and subtle spice are layered with fine toasted notes and a firm, precise tannin structure. The balance between density and freshness ensures clarity and length.

Eklektós Rosso Toscana IGT Cortemedicea 2018 - 0.75l

The Cabernet Sauvignon 'Eklektós' is a marvellous example of how a dedicated oenologist can achieve success with passionately vinified wines. After all, there are truly easier tasks than launching a new Cabernet Sauvignon in Tuscany - with its highly acclaimed Supertuscans such as Sassicaia, Masseto and Ornellaia. But Andrea Bernardini, the heart and soul of the Cortemedicea project, took up the challenge. He reached deep into the box of modern high-end vinification: hand-picking, long maceration, use of wild yeasts and a full 24 months of ageing in French oak barriques. The result is one of the most beautiful, most Tuscan and highest-rated Cabernet Sauvignons we have ever been able to offer: Italy's critic luminary Luca Maroni scores a mighty 99 points; a wine in this league rarely comes this close to perfection. Cortemedicea Cabernet Sauvignon 'Eklektòs' Toscana 2015 is vinified from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from various vineyards in Tuscany. After manual harvesting in small crates in September (10% of the harvest was only carried out in October to achieve greater concentration in the wine), maceration for 6 days and careful 16-day fermentation with wild yeasts at 24 °C to 26 °C, the wine matured for 24 months in 225-litre French oak barriques.

Cune Crianza 2019 - 0.75l

The Cune Crianza is aged for 12 months in oak barrels to preserve the aromatic balance of this wine. It has a bright ruby red colour. Intense aromas of red berries and plums, tobacco and leather. On the palate, the Cune Crianza is characterised by a delicately spicy aroma and hints of roasted notes as well as a firm and harmonious tannin. Viticulture in north-east Spain on the Ebro and its tributary Rio Oja, which gave the 45,000-hectare Rioja wine-growing region its name, is strongly influenced by the Atlantic, even though the foothills of the Cantabrian Mountains shield the valley from cool northerly winds. Lacrimus 5 D.O.Ca 2023 - 0.75l

From Rioja Alta, Lacrimus 5 reflects limestone and clay soils combined with an Atlantic-continental climate that supports freshness and structure. Bodegas Rodriguez Sanzo vinifies this Tempranillo after selective harvesting in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by a short period of oak ageing to refine the texture. Ripe red berries, cherry and subtle spice combine with hints of vanilla and light toasted notes. The tannins are soft and well integrated, supported by balanced acidity that enhances freshness and drinkability. The style remains approachable and well balanced, pairing well with tapas and Mediterranean dishes.

The cradle of "El Coto Crianza", which is made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes, can be found on the chalky soils of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa.
